Reading summary

I like the idea of working the 2D image into something 3D in the sense that it forces the audience to focus of the image under the physical context. Physically altering photos came about as a way to more integrate photography within the world of art. I like the point made within the article saying that "photos have a flatness, a promise that they don't really fulfill". This idea states that through 3D alteration you can amplify the image and the 'promise' that it was meant to fulfill. By blurring the lines of whether or not the image/object is a photo or a sculpture you can evoke thoughts within the viewer that may raise fun questions as to what is being said withing the work.
